Blacklist Coffee Roasters Simao (Anaerobic Natural)

Close-up of roasted coffee beans on an open notebook with a black coffee bag from Blacklist Coffee Roasters in the background, showcasing high-quality specialty coffee.

Mapped & Described

Simao, Pu’er, Yunnan, China

My tasting notes

Too dark a roast for filter — labelled omni but sat much closer to the espresso end. Not enough acidity, limited flavour, average finish, very forgettable. Probably the worst Blacklist I’ve had so far (several of theirs have been very good). Ended up adding lime to the V60 brew to bring up the acidity and salvage some taste.

Roaster notes

Sugarcane, Star Fruit, Apricot
