Bengkolan Dua Washed

Roasted coffee beans on dotted notebook page with Indonesian coffee packaging, close-up.

Mapped & Described

Mount Kerinci, South Solok Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia

My tasting notes

Smells chocolaty. Hard to grind. Brewed at 97. Acidity nice with a long upwards trajectory. Don’t get strong flavour – perhaps chocolate-orange. A tiny bit bitter towards finish.

Roaster notes

Yellow Peach, Yellow Stone Fruits, Orange, White Floral

A BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT THE FARM

Situated at the foot of Mount Kerinci, Rukun Saudara Cooperative is managed by Abdul Aziz Thohari, a Javanese-born coffee farmer and processor. He started working with coffee in 2015, but it wasn’t until 2017 that he fully dedicated himself. Under Abdul Aziz’s leadership, they began experimenting with different techniques to increase the quality of their coffee. This was proven when their coffee finished 12th in the 2022 Indonesia Cup of Excellence.
