I’d been looking to get some photos printed and framed for a while. I’d had two quotes for c. IDR 400k to frame a single A3 photo – black wooden frame and white 6cm mount.
A friend at the fantastic Galeri Hadiprana in Kemang recommended Bima Bagus. Hadiprana use Bima Bagus for some of their exhibitions.
As you’ll see from the images below, Bima Bagus is a bit run down, but don’t let that put you off. I was quoted IDR 150k (GBP 7.5) per photo including delivery to central jakarta. I didn’t bother haggling, and they did 15 for me within a week.
I got the prints done at one of the many printing shops on Benhil in the CBD. They were super cheap for poster paper and basic printer c. IDR 10k (GBP 0.5) per photo. I kind of regret not getting better quality prints given the quality of frames, but.. what a bargain to get something printed A3 and framed for under a tenner (GBP). House beginning to look like a home.
